“So what happened to the promised second coming of Jesus? For everything keeps going just the way it has since our ancestors fell asleep in death; since the beginning of creation, nothing’s changed.”
These believers face persecution every day and eagerly await the day when Jesus will return and judge their enemies. But what is taking so long?
When they make fun of you, it’s as if the scoffers are deliberately forgetting that long ago when God spoke the word, the heavens came into existence and the earth formed from water and by water. 6 The waters later flooded and destroyed that world. By that same word, the heavens and earth we see now are being reserved for destruction by fire, preserved until the time comes for the godless on the day of judgment. (2 Peter 3:4-7 VOICE)
But of that [exact] day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
For just as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, [men] marrying and [women] being given in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah went into the ark,
And they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away [to judgment]—so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:36-39 AMPC)
After years of preaching and building, the time finally came for Noah to enter the ark. God shut the door so Noah could not have opened it if he wanted to.
“Contrary to a lot of folks’ perspective, God isn’t the one making the choice of who gets into His forever Kingdom and who does not. Each person has the option of choosing or rejecting God’s Way. Not wanting anyone to continue on their path towards eternal destruction, God is actually very patient and merciful in giving them chance after chance to repent. But if someone stubbornly makes their own choice of not being under His Teachings, they can’t blame the God of justice if He is bound by His own Law to throw the covenant breakers into prison.” (Something Stewing in a Cracked Pot, page 64)
“For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of [God’s rescue which delivers believers out of destruction and into His safety]!” (2 Corinthians 6:2 AMPC)
Your life choices decide which side of the door you will be standing when it is time for God to shut the redeemers in the Ark of Deliverance on the day of judgement.
